Arrowhead plants, also known as Syngonium plants, can be propagated by taking stem cuttings and placing them in water or soil

Steps

Prepare your tools: Disinfect your shears or knife.

Take a cutting: Cut a 4–6 inch stem section just below a leaf node at a 45° angle.

Remove lower leaves: Remove the leaves from the bottom of the cutting to prevent them from rotting.

Prepare the water or soil: Fill a glass jar with clean water or prepare a pot with moist potting mix.

Place the cutting: Submerge the cutting in the water or place it in the pot so the soil touches the first node.

Provide light and warmth: Place the cutting in a warm spot with bright, indirect sunlight.

Change the water or moisten the soil: Change the water every 5–7 days or spritz the soil to keep it moist. Wait for roots: Within a few weeks, you should see new roots growing from the nodes.

Plant in soil: When the roots are at least an inch long, you can plant the cutting in a pot with soil.

You can also apply rooting hormone to the cut end of the stem to encourage root growth.

    Why prune?

Pruning your arrowhead plant regularly can help it stay compact and fuller. It’s a good time to take cuttings for propagation while you’re pruning.
