Austrian pines can be propagated by sowing seeds, taking cuttings, or layering branches

Sowing seeds

Collect cones: Look for trees with lots of cones, which are more likely to have viable seeds. Avoid cones that are already open.

Dry the cones: Place the cones in a warm, well-ventilated area for a few weeks. Shake them every few days to help them dry out and open up.

Extract the seeds: Use tweezers to remove the seeds from the cones.

Prepare the soil: Use a well-draining soil that’s deep enough for the roots to grow.

Plant the seeds: Press the seeds into the soil and cover them.

Water and maintain: Water the seeds regularly and protect the area from pests.
