Coral bells (Heuchera) can be propagated by division or by growing from seed.
Division
- Dig up the coral bells in the fall or spring
- Separate the root clumps
- Replant the clumps, barely covering the roots with soil
- Sanitize your tools between each plant to prevent the spread of disease
Growing from seed
- Sprinkle the seeds in late fall or early spring
- Don’t cover the seeds with soil
Tips
Coral bells grow in clumps, so you’ll need to divide them over time to keep them alive
You can also propagate coral bells by taking leaf cuttings Place the divisions in a shady area and water them well
