Creeping jenny can be propagated by stem cuttings, division, or seeds

Stem cuttingsĀ

  1. Take a 2-inch cutting from a healthy stem, just below a leaf or bud
  2. Dip the cutting in rooting hormone
  3. Plant the cutting in moist potting soil
  4. Cover with clear plastic to create a mini greenhouse
  5. Place in bright, indirect light
  6. Wait for roots to develop
  7. Transplant into pots or the ground

DivisionĀ

  1. Dig up a clump of creeping jenny plants with roots
  2. Cut the clump into smaller pieces with stems and rhizomes attached
  3. Plant the pieces in moist soil

SeedsĀ

  1. Start seeds in trays of moist seed starting mix in the fall
  2. Place the trays in a shady spot and cover with clear plastic
  3. Keep moist until seedlings germinate
  4. Transplant seedlings when they start to creep or trail
