To propagate holly, you can take cuttings from a healthy holly plant and place them in a container of well-draining soil. The best time to take cuttings depends on the type of holly, but it’s usually in the summer or late fall.

Steps

Select a healthy plant: Choose a holly plant with vibrant green leaves and no signs of disease or pests.

Take cuttings: In late summer, take semi-ripe cuttings.

In winter, take hardwood cuttings.  Cut a 6-inch piece from a healthy shoot, just below a bud union  Remove all but the top few leaves

Prepare the cuttings: Dip the cut end in water, then rooting hormone

Plant the cuttings: Place the cuttings in a container with well-draining soil

Press down on the cuttings and water generously  Place the container in a bright location with good ventilation

Care for the cuttings: Keep the soil moist

In the spring, transplant any sprouts that emerge
