Yarrow can be propagated by seed, division, or cuttings

From seed

  1. Collect seeds from mature plants in late summer or early fall
  2. Sow seeds in a moist, well-draining soil mix
  3. Place in a warm location with bright light
  4. After 10–14 days, seedlings should germinate
  5. Transplant seedlings to their permanent location once they are large enough

By division

  1. In early spring or fall, when the plant is dormant, dig up the yarrow clump
  2. Use a sharp spade to separate the clump into sections
  3. Make sure each section has both roots and shoots
  4. Replant the divisions in well-prepared soil

From cuttings

  1. Take cuttings from healthy stems
  2. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone
  3. Plant the cutting in a well-draining soil
  4. Keep the soil moist but not soggy
  5. Place the cutting in a location with indirect sunlight

Yarrow is a cold-tolerant perennial flower that needs less water than other flowers.
